Meet Your Host

Hi! We’re your hosts, Chris and Dodie Tidwell, and together with our three children, we’re truly delighted to host you at our beach home.

We’re from the peach state, Georgia. We first discovered Cape San Blas in 2020 while living full-time in our RV, and it was love at first sight. The pristine, uncrowded beaches, the untouched natural beauty, and the peaceful, laid-back atmosphere completely captured our hearts.

Just minutes away, the charming coastal town of Port St. Joe offers that historic Southern feel we adore — friendly faces, local shops, and a slower pace of life invites you to truly unwind.

We knew this was a place we wanted to one day put down roots — and share with others. That’s how our beach home was born: a welcoming space where families can gather, reconnect, and make lasting memories.

Whether you’re here for sunrise beach walks, shell collecting, fishing adventures, or simply relaxing with your toes in the sand, we hope you fall in love with this special area just like we did and that you enjoy your stay at our home away from home!

House Rules

  • Please respect the noise curfew
  • No pets on furniture (If there is excessive dog hair on the furniture or beds, we will add an additional cleaning fee of $75. If possible, bring your dog’s bed with you.)
  • Please clean up after your pet and dispose of waste in the proper bin
  • No Smoking
  • No Events or Parties
  • No unregistered guests allowed
  • No food or drink in the bedrooms
  • Please respect check-in and check-out times
  • Please take care of the furnishings. You will have to pay for damages. 
  • Please don’t rearrange the furniture
  • Please clean dishes after use
  • Please take the trash out before you leave
  • No illegal substances allowed on the premises
  • Please do not pour bacon grease in sink, or put food peels or hard items such as crab shells in the garbage disposal
  • Please only flush toilet paper in toilets and use provided waste cans for all other items
  • Please do not hang towels or clothing from decks or outside railings 
  • Please put trash in designated area and not in the driveway or by the road
  • A/C etiquette: Keep doors/windows closed when running it. Turn it off if you want fresh air.
  • Stay in your lane – no entering neighbors’ carports or using their property/showers. Neighbors take trespassing VERY seriously!

A/C & Heat

  • There are two thermostats
  • One is located on the master level near the utility room and the other is located outside of the second bedroom on the main level
  • Feel free to adjust them to your own comfort
  • Please remember to reset them to 78 degrees upon checkout

TV & Streaming

  • All TVs have the ability to stream your favorite service.
  • To access streaming on the living room tv:

    • Turn on TV with TCL remote and click the home button

  •  
  • To get to streaming options push the HOME button.
  • Please be sure to sign-out of your account and return the remote to the appropriate place before checking out

Laundry

  • The clothes washing machine and dryer are located upstairs in the
    utility room in the master suite
  • There are laundry pods, stain remover, and dryer sheets available for
    your use
  • No heavy/bulky or heavily soiled items, such as shoes, bags, muddy
    clothes, cloth diapers, etc
  • Please clean the lint trap after each dryer cycle

Kitchen Appliances

Please help us keep the appliances clean by wiping up any spills or splatter

Coffee Maker
As coffee enthusiasts ourselves, we know the importance of a good coffee maker, this is why we felt it important to offer our guests a dual maker with the option of traditional drip or single serve. Just bring your favorite single serve and/or coffee grounds.

To use:

  • Tap CARAFE if you would like a full pot or SINGLE if you would like to use a k-cup
  • Add water to your chosen reservoir
  • Select your desired brew strength
  • Tap BREW NOW
  • Full user manual is in the tv stand.

Air Fryer
There is an air fryer in the bottom cupboard in the kitchen.

To use:

  • Remove multi-purpose rack if desired
  • Turn on and select desired preset
  • Tap TEMP/TIME to adjust temperature and time as needed
  • Tap PREHEAT/TURN REMINDER
  • Tap START
  • Full user manual and a recipe book are in the tv stand

BBQ Grill
The gas BBQ grill is located on the main patio

To use:

  • You will have to light the grill manually, there is a lighter provided in the drawer by the oven in the kitchen
  • The tank should be full, but should you run out of propane, please fill it at the Trading Post and send us a copy of the receipt for reimbursement
  • Please turn off the gas and cover the grill before you checkout

Sleeper Sofa Bed

  • Bedding for the sleeper sofa is located on the shelf in the closet of the second
    bedroom
  • Please be sure to use the provided mattress cover and duvet cover provided
  • Please place used bedding in the laundry room before leaving

Baby Items

To ensure a worry-free stay, we have provided some items to keep your little ones safe and secure.

  • A portable, pressure-mounted baby gate for use at the top or bottom of the stairs
  • A folding high chair
  • A pack-n-play with mattress and sheet
  • All items are located in the guest bedroom closet
  • Please return all items back to the guest bedroom closet after use
  • Please wash dry and put away the used baby mattress sheet prior to checkout

Dog Towels and Bowls

  • There are two dog towels, waste bags, and food and water dish under the sink in the master bathroom
  • Please wash, dry, and put away the towels if used prior to checkout

Beach Closet

  • A key for the carport closet (where beach equipment is kept) is on a blue collar hanging by the front door.

Trash

  • Please secure all trash in a provided garbage bag and place in carport area beside the Air Conditioners

Camera Use

  • Two Cameras are installed primarily as a theft deterrent. No cameras are placed inside, or with any view of the interior of the property. Below are the locations of the two Cameras
  • Front Door/Doorbell Camera
  • In the Carport facing our air conditioners and beach items closet door
